Comedian Aries Spears and actor Tiffany Haddish have been accused of child sexual abuse. A lawsuit was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court on August 30, 2022, by a 22-year-old woman alleging that the two comedians forced her and her 15-year-old brother to perform inappropriate scenes on camera when they were minors. 

Spears and Haddish have been accused of “intentional infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence, sexual battery, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse of a minor”, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Who is Aries Spears? 

Aries Spears is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. He was born on April 3, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of 11, Spears moved to New Jersey and attended Arthur M. Judd Elementary School. 

He became a comedian at the age of 14 and performed in various comedy clubs in New York City. He attended North Brunswick Township High School during his sophomore year and was expelled from the school for a fight. 

Aries Spears made his first television appearance on Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam. This was followed by his role in It’s Showtime at the Apollo in 1987. Spears moved to Los Angeles in 1992 and started acting in an American sitcom television series A Different World in 1993. He became a part of The Laugh Factory, The Improv, and The Comedy Store. 

At the age of 16, he starred in Malcolm X. His other movie appearances include South of Sunset (1993), Home of Angels (1994), The Pest (1997), Jerry Maguire (1996), and The Proud Family (2003). 

Spears joined the cast of MADtv during its third season in 1997 and left it at the end of its 10th season in 2005. He appeared in 198 episodes making him the second longest-serving cast member. Spears is well known for his impressions of celebrities including Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and comedians Eddie Murphy and Paul Mooney.

Aries Spears released an insightful comedy concert, Aries Spears: Hollywood, Look I’m Smiling in 2011. Spears is also a two-time co-host of AVN awards in 2018.
