Rapper Blueface was arrested Tuesday in Las Vegas on suspicion of attempted murder. The 25-year-old is suspected to be linked to an October 8 shooting incident.

He was taken into custody outside Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles in Vegas. According to TMZ, police likely conducted an undercover operation to nab him.

No other details about the shooting incident was made public.

Who is Blueface?

Rapper Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, was born on January 20, 1997, in Los Angeles, California. He attended multiple elementary schools before moving in with his mother in Santa Clarita Valley. He later settled in Oakland with his father.

As starting quarterback, Blueface led his team to an East Valley League championship in 2014.

In a video, Blueface references his past experiences as a football player. It was the remix to “Thotiana,” where the rapper portrays a top prospect high school quarterback disrespecting his coach.

In October 2018, he released the music video for his song Respect My Cryppin’, which went on to become a viral meme due to his offbeat style of rapping.

He was later signed to Cash Money West, the West Coast branch of Birdman’s Cash Money Records label.

In 2019, a remix of his song Thotiana (featuring Cardi B and YG), became his most successful single to date. It went straight to peaking at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2020, he released his debut studio album, Find the Beat.

Blueface has two kids with Alexis Jaidyn, one of who was born this year in August. Apart from their newborn baby daughter, Blueface also has a 5-year-old son. Javaughn J. Porter was born on April 29, 2019.
