Chris Hemsworth is an Australian actor. The actor turned 39 on August 11, 2022. Before beginning his career in Hollywood, the actor rose to prominence playing Kim Hyde in the Australian television series Home and Away. The actor started playing the role of Thor in the 2011 film of the same name.

His most recent film, Thor: Love and Thunder established him among the world’s highest-paid actors. The movie has emerged to be the second Hollywood film after Doctor Strange to have crossed 100 crores at the Indian Box Office. 

Christopher Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He has two brothers, Liam and Luke. Both of them are also actors. Hemsworth started his career by appearing in several television series. 

In 2002, he starred in two episodes of fantasy television Guinevere Jones as King Arthur. He also made an appearance in the soap opera Neighbors. He appeared in Home and Away for 171 episodes of the series, leaving the cast on July 3, 2007. He was also a contestant in the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars Australia. He was partnered with professional dancer Abbey Ross and got eliminated after six weeks on November 7, 2006.

His first Hollywood appearance was in the science fiction blockbuster Star Trek (2009). The film grossed US $385.7 million. The same year Hemsworth played the role of Kale Garrity in A Perfect Getaway. His other films include Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Red Dawn (2012), Men in Black: International (2019) and the comedy Ghostbusters (2016).

In 2011 Chris Hemsworth was cast as the superhero Thor in the MCU. With a worldwide collection of US $449.3 million, Thor was the 15th highest grossing film of 2011. The actor was portrayed as the God of Thunder. Hemsworth reprised the role the following year for the movie The Avengers, as one of the six superheroes. He reprised the role of Thor in Thor: The Dark World (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). 

Chris Hemsworth appeared in Forbes’s World’s Highest Paid Actors list in 2014, 2015 and 2018. He was ranked 31st in the magazine’s list of Highest Paid Celebrities in 2018 and 24th in 2019 with estimated earnings of US$76.4 million.
