Chris Stokes came into the public limelight on social media amid the latest backlash against Marques Houston over his significant age gap with his wife Miya Dickey

Following the renewed doubts about Houston and Dickey’s relationship, netizens digging into the older memories recalled Dickey’s 2020 Instagram post where she referred to Stokes as “dad.” She also called him the “best father figure” and “best friend anyone could ask for.”

Some Twitter users consequently alleged that Dickey was “adopted” by Stokes in the years she remained missing. She went missing in August 2016 in Oregon, when she was 15, as claimed by a Twitter user who shared an unverified screenshot from the National Database for Missing Teenagers. 

Who is Chris Stokes?

Chris Stokes was born on July 21, 1969, in Los Angeles, California to famous actress Irene Stokes. He also has a younger sister who is a famous singer and rapper, Juanita Stokes. 

The former record executive started singing when he was 12 years old. He got his major breakthrough opportunity in 1995 when he helped produce Mind Blown. He further rose to popularity after he founded The Ultimate Group (TUG), a record management company in 2000. TUG had B2K, Omarion, Jhené Aiko, Marques Houston, IMx and NLT as majors on its roster.

The 53-year-old producer produced content for artists like Destiny’s Child, Bell Biv DeVoe, Debelah Morgan, Shanice and more. Stokes further moved to screenwriting and direction and got a substantial appreciation for his work in 2004’s You Got Served.

Stokes is also known for his work as the writer, director and producer of House Party 4, Somebody Help Me, Battlefield America, and The Helper. Chris Stokes also launched a clothing line called the Christopher Brian Collection in 2007. The line featured Kim Kardashian as the principal spokesmodel.
