Danielle Ponder, a Rochester-based singer-songwriter, made her acting debut on the ABC soap opera ‘General Hospital‘. The episode aired at 2 pm on April 6.

General Hospital’s official Facebook account posted a picture of Ponder with Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) and Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones).

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Danielle Ponder performing on today’s all-new General Hospital. Believe us when we say you won’t want to miss this,” the photo was captioned.

Ponder has previously appeared as a guest on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers”. She also performed on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in January this year.

According to her official website, Ponder’s father is a pastor, and he plays piano and sings.

Pender formed a family band at the age of 16 and was also a part of the band in law school.

“We formed a family band when I was 16 and when I would come back from college breaks, I would play with them. I was in a band in law school too and part of me knew that I loved being on stage. But I always had this fear of being a starving artist. I grew up with a father whose income wasn’t always stable so, I wanted a solid job,” her official website quoted her as saying.

“But through law school and even practicing, I would still play. I can’t believe how much I was doing. I would do a small tour in Europe, come back, and on Monday I’d be in court like nothing happened. But it just got to the point where I was like, “Man, I can’t do both.” And the choice could never be giving up music, I am absolutely in love with the stage. I knew it was time to completely surrender. This is what I need to be doing,” she added.
