Davon Fleming, a semi-finalist of reality television singing show The Voice, sang the national anthem on Sunday at the Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns game at the M&T Bank Stadium.

This was the star’s third national anthem performance at Baltimore Ravens’ home ground.

Who is Davon Fleming, The Voice semifinalist?

Davon Fleming was born on July 5, 1991, in Baltimore MD. The singer song-writer rose to fame for his stint as a contestant in the Season 13 of the American singing reality TV show The Voice.

The 31-year-old impressed judges Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus and Blake Shelton with a rendition of “Me & Mr. Jones” by Amy Winehouse. He subsequently joined the team of Jennifer Hudson, the Oscar-winning singer, and had a great run in the show.

He managed to reach the top eight in season 13 of The Voice but could not take the title home. Chloe Kohanski was declared the winner of the 13th edition of the voice. However, Davon did enough to start off his career as a singer and made good use of the platform the show provided to him.

Davon impressed the audience with his mesmerising voice and life story of growing up in Parker Heights, one of Baltimore’s toughest neighbourhoods. He always owned up to his upbringing and never shied away from representing the people of his community in every way he could.

At the end of the show, Davon was recruited by coach Jennifer Hudson to be a background singer in her touring band. She was so impressed by Davon that she offered him the role immediately after the show in a rare instance when a judge hires a contestant straight from the show. Davon travelled with her singing in the chorus during her press tour for the film Respect.

Since becoming famous and an established singer after the show, he has started a youth outreach program in Baltimore schools in an effort to give back to the community he belongs to.
