“Outlander” Season 5 alum Ed Speleers is among the actors who’ve joined the cast of “You” for Season 4 in a series regular role.

Speleers, also well-known for his work in “Downton Abbey” and “Eragon,” will play Rhys.

According to a character description from Netflix: “Dry, irreverent Rhys is an author whose memoir garnered him acclaim and pressure to launch a political career. Born into poverty, Rhys lived a traumatic early life before he came into money, going to Oxford and making all the right friends. Now, he moves easily in any social circle, while also seeing through those around him. He doesn’t have much time for partying, though he enjoys staying in touch with his eccentric circle of friends. After all, they were there for him in his troubled youth.”

Who is Ed Speelers?

Edward John Speleers, an English actor and producer, was born on April 7, 1988. His most well-known roles include James “Jimmy” Kent in the television drama Downton Abbey and the antagonist Stephen Bonnet in the TV series Outlander. He also played the title character in the 2006 film Eragon. For a short film he co-produced, Speleers has received nominations for both the British Academy Film Awards and the Saturn Awards in the category of Best Young Actor.

Speleers was born in Chichester, West Sussex, England’s St. Richard’s Hospital. He has Belgian ancestry. When he was three years old, his parents separated. His father lived in London and his mother in Spain. He has two more senior half-brothers. Speleers participated in school performances of Richard III and A Midsummer Night’s Dream while they were still in school. Speleers not only performed as an actor but also authored a play that was presented at Eastbourne College in Sussex, where he was a student. Retribution, which dealt with pedophilia, was extraordinarily contentious and greeted with astonished reactions. In 2006, Speleers finished his education.

He is co-starring in the upcoming romantic comedy Irish Wish alongside Lindsay Lohan.

Speleers lives in Bristol, England. He is married to Asia Macey, the couple has two children.
