The 2022 biographical drama Blonde, written and directed by Andrew Dominik released on Netflix on September 28, following its premiere at the 79th Venice Film Festival and a limited theatrical release in the United States.  The movie, based on a novel by Joyce Carol Oates, is a fictionalized account of the life and career of Norma Jeane aka Marilyn Monroe.

The movie stars Ana de Armas as Monroe, alongside Juliane Nicholson, Sara Paxton, Evan Williams, Xavier Samuel, and Tygh Runyan in supporting roles.  Canadian actor and musician Evan Williams plays the role of Edward G. Robinson Jr., an American actor and once a lover of Monroe.

Who is Evan Williams?

Evan Williams was born on 11th March 1984 in Swan Hills, Alberta, and was brought up in Calgary.  He credits his parents’ support and generosity with his creative venture into acting and music.

He graduated from Henry Wise Wood Senior High School where he was cast in the lead role for a play. It was then that he considered acting as a potential career and went on to study theatre at Ryerson University in Ontario, Canada. He also performed in choir and musical theatre productions and was part of a number of musicals in downtown Calgary.

Williams made his on-screen debut in the television film The House Next Door (2006). He landed his first significant role as Kelly Ashoona in the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation in 2008-09, gaining him international recognition. He has played several notable roles in Baxter (2010-11), Farhope Tower (2015), and Versailles (2015-18). He is playing the role of Eddy (Edward G.) Robindon Jr., one-third of the three-way relationship involving Monroe and Cass Chaplin Jr in Blonde.

The 38-year-old actor earned a Canadian Screen Award nomination for his portrayal of Chevalier de Lorraine in the French drama Versailles. He is reportedly filming for the Hallmark Channel series The Way Home at the moment.
