Hugh Jackman will make his Marvel return as Wolverine in the movie Deadpool 3, according to a video shared by the actor on Tuesday. Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3 will mark his first appearance in the role since Logan released in 2017. The video also said that the movie will release on September 6, 2024.

Jackman has starred in the role of Wolverine since the first X-Men movie hit the theaters in 2000. Since then, he has featured in eight of the 13 movies in the series, the last of which was Logan where millions of fans worldwide mourned the death of Wolverine.

Who is Hugh Jackman?

Hugh Jackman is an Australian actor who works extensively in Hollywood. He is best known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 

Jackman was born on October 12, 1968, in Sydney, Australia. He became known as an actor while he was still performing in college plays and received his first break in television with ABC’s Cornellia on the final night of his graduation performance in 1995. With the show running for only a season, Jackman then starred in several stage musicals and local movies. 

He became known outside Australia after his stage performance in Royal National Theatre’s play Oklahoma! in London fetched him the Best Actor award in 1998. He also played the lead in a 1999 adaptation of the play which was his first film appearance outside Australia.

Jackman got cast in the character of Wolverine in the 2000 movie X-Men, which was directed by Bryan Singer. Since then he has played the character in eight X-Men movies which earned him a place in the Guinness Book for having the “longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero” in February 2019.

The actor has done over 51 films in his career so far winning one Emmy, one Golden Globe, one Grammy, and two Tony awards for his performances. He received an Oscar nomination in the Best Actor in a leading role category for his performance in Les Misérables.
