Ira Khan, recently,
took to her social media handle  to declare her engagement with Nupur
Shikhar
, her long-time boyfriend. The couple posted a reel on Instagram to make
the announcement with the caption ‘Popeye: She said yes. Ira: Hehe I said yes.’ In the
video, Ira is seen standing in the audience section of a cycling event of Nupur
in Italy while Nupur approaches towards her. He kisses and gets down on one
knee and proposes to her with a ring to which Ira responds with a “yes”. The
video ends with the newly engaged couple kissing, followed by the audience
clapping and cheering for them.

Who is Ira Khan?

Ira Khan was
born to Bollywood actor Amir Khan and Reena Dutta in 1997. She has a brother
named Junaid Khan. Ira was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra and did her schooling in
the same city from Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Her parents got
divorced in 2002, when she was five years old. 

Ira Khan
had often taken part in philanthropic endeavors. In 2014, Ira organized a
celebrity football match to raise money for an animal welfare shelter.

Ira
has always been vocal about the issue of mental health. In 2020, she shared
with her followers on Instagram that she had been clinically depressed and was
recovering from it.

In 2021,
she established her own company called “Agastu Foundation”, the aim of which is
to “make life better”. For this, she had received the support of many,
including her mother Reena Dutta and stepmother Kiran Rao.

 Her
purpose behind this establishment was to provide mental health support during
the trying times of Covid19 second wave.

 In
2022, she shared a video on Instagram, narrating that she often gets anxiety
attacks and feels overwhelmed, suffers from breathlessness and crying fits. She
also mentioned that conversing with her then boyfriend (now fiance) helped her
deal with the attacks.

“Life’s
full of variables. If you’re trying to be mindful, remember to take them all
into account. Hang in there,” she said in the video.

Ira Khan
had also been a victim of social media bashing when she had posted pictures of
her in bikini, cutting cake with her father and a few other close ones were
cheering for her.
