Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in The Boys Season 4, in an as-yet undisclosed role. Supernatural fans are excited to see the actor who played John Winchester return to the Amazon Prime series, especially since Jensen Ackles, who played John’s son Dean, joined as Soldier Boy in Season 3 of the superhero show. 

The 56-year-old Morgan has always been a fan of The Boys, expressing excitement about the show in 2020, and had earlier said he’d join it in a “heartbeat”. 

Who is Jeffrey Dean Morgan?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was born in Seattle, Washington, on April 22, 1966, to Sandy Thomas and Richard Dean Morgan. He graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1984 and then went to Skagit Valley College, where he pursued a basketball career. However, after sustaining an injury, Morgan had to give up his playing hopes and switched to other pursuits like writing and painting.

It was while he was helping a friend move to Los Angeles that Morgan discovered his passion for acting and decided to stay back. 

He was married to Anya Longwell from 1992 to 2003, and in 2007, he was briefly engaged to former Weeds co-star Mary Louise Parker. The engagement ended in 2008. Finally, Morgan ended up marrying Hilarie Burton, who was introduced to him by Morgan’s Supernatural co-star Ackles. The couple has a son and daughter together. They live in Rhinebeck in Duchess County, New York.

The actor has appeared in over 25 feature films, but most of his work has been on television shows. He was the Comedian in The Watchmen movie and has been a mainstay on AMC’s The Walking Dead. Morgan will next appear in Isle of the Dead, the spinoff to the zombie series. He’s also been a part of popular shows like Grey’s Anatomy.
