Nathan Griffith, the former US Marine officer who starred in MTV’s show Teen Mom was arrested on charges of domestic battery after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, TMZ reports.
Who is Jenelle Evans?
Griffith, along with his ex-girlfriend Jenelle Evans, was introduced on Teen Girls in season 2 back in 2011. Since their appearance on the show, they have had a topsy-turvy relationship which saw them getting engaged for a year in 2014, before finally separating the next year. They also have a son together, but details of the child are not available in the public domain.
More about Griffith’s arrest
According to legal documents of the case obtained by TMZ, Delray Beach, Florida police responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance incident from Griffith’s brother-in-law, William. William told the police that Griffith said to him on the phone that he “lost it” and seemingly choked his girlfriend and dragged her up the stairs. William then texted Griffith’s girlfriend to enquire if she was okay to which she replied in negative, prompting William to reach out to law enforcement for help.
Based on police records, TMZ reports that when officers arrived at Griffith’s place after the tip-off from Willliam, Griffith was uncooperative.
Not only did say that he and his girlfriend were fine but also tried to lead the police into believing that William was on drugs and hence can not be considered a reliable source. The police then asked Griffith about several scratches on his neck but he claimed that those were from having sex with his girlfriend.
On being enquired by doctors, Griffith’s girlfriend initially said that the allegations against him were not true.
However, on further inquiry, she confirmed that Griffith was violent towards her, however, she could not explain the specifics of what he did as all of it happened when she had blacked out.
