John Krasinski is an American actor, filmmaker and one of the most popular television stars. He got his break as Jim Halpert on the NBC sitcom The Office. He was born on October 20, 1979 in Massachusetts and he graduated from Brown University as a playwright with an honors thesis titled Contents Under Pressure.  

Krasinski started his career as an intern script writer on the show Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Later he moved to New York City and he appeared in commercials and guest-starred on television shows. In 2004, he got major recognition from his role of Jim Halpert and since then he made his appearance in many TV series.

He is also seen in films such as Doogal, For Your Consideration, Dreamgirls and The Holiday. In 2006 he began narrating a series of commercials for Ask.com, Apple TV and Verizon Wireless. He also made his debut as a writer and director with Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, which was a film adaptation based on the short-story collection by David Foster Wallace. 

He married Emily Blunt in 2010 and they have two kids Hazel and Violet. He has appeared in a number of films including Away We Go, License to Wed, Something Borrowed and It’s Complicated. Now he will make his DC debut in the animated movie DC League of Super-Pets, and he will voice Superman

He has received many awards and recognitions and won the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for The Office in 2006 and 2007, consecutively. He received nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award four times and his directed film Brief Interviews with Hideous Men was screened at the famous Sundance Film Festival, in 2009.
