Kathleen Erin Walsh is a 53-year-old American actress best
known for portraying Dr Addison Montgomery on the longest running television drama
Grey’s Anatomy.

She was born in San Jose, California and grew up in a Catholic
household with her parents Angela and Joseph Patrick Walsh.

Before making it big, Walsh had to take up three waitressing
jobs in order to survive and support her dream.

Her mother is a survivor of
breast cancer because of which the actress gets regular check-ups herself.

She spent a lot of time on the beach and grew an affinity
for the ocean. There was a time in her life when she wished to be a marine
biologist.

Walsh is a staunch advocate of ocean conservation, climate change and
women’s rights.

The famous American actress has travelled around the globe while working with
Operation Smile which works to provide surgical care for children born with
cleft lips.

She owns an independent fragrance beauty company, Boyfriend.
Her signature scent gained immense popularity and became a top seller at Sephora.
It was relaunched in 2018.

In September 2007, she tied the knot with Alex Young in a
lavish wedding. However, the marriage wasn’t meant to last as the couple separated
just 15 months after getting married. In the divorce papers, Alex cited
irreconcilable differences as the reason behind taking the action.

In 2017, she had been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Thanks
to an early diagnosis, the actress underwent surgery and successfully had the
tumour which was the size of a lemon removed.

In 2020, her net worth was estimated to be in the ballpark
of $25 million which must have grown even more by now.

Walsh has been a part of the industry for over two decades
and has featured in several films and TV shows. Some of her best works include
13 Reasons Why, The Umbrella Academy, Emily in Paris, Private Practice, The
Perks of Being a Wallflower and Just Before I Go.
