John Constantine, the Hellblazer, is making a comeback. After resurrecting The Matrix last year, Warner Bros. is bringing back another Keanu Reeves project. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio is developing a sequel to 2005’s Constantine, a film based on the supernatural DC asset.

Reeves will work again with original director Francis Lawrence on this project. This time, veteran screenwriter Akiva Goldsman will pen the script. Goldsman will also produce through Weed Road Pictures, and J.J. Abrams will produce with Hannah Minghella through Bad Robot. Deadline was the first to break the story.

Who is Keanu Reeves?

Keanu Charles Reeves was born on September 2, 1964, in Beirut, Lebanon. He was always interested in acting and less inclined towards academics. He also developed a strong passion for ice hockey. To pursue a career in acting, he finally dropped out of school.

After that, he performed on stage intermittently and appeared in a few made-for-TV movies. He managed to get a minor part in Rob Lowe’s hockey movie Youngblood in 1968.

As soon as the film was finished, he left for Hollywood, which is when he got his first breakthrough in the dark adolescent drama River’s Edge (1986), and he later landed a supporting part in Dangerous Liaisons (1988), directed by Stephen Frears. Reeves played a young man attracted to the equally young Uma Thurman in the intriguing seduction classic that starred John Malkovich, Glenn Close and Michelle Pfeiffer. The movie had several nominations and won three Oscars.

In Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, he played the very cool Ted “Theodore” Logan, which was his first commercial triumph (1989). People would always mistake Reeves’ real-life personality for that of his goofy on-screen counterpart as a result of the bizarre time-travel film, which became something of a pop culture phenomenon.

Then with the release of Speed in 1994, the understated actor rose to fame as a big-budget action hero (1994). The culmination of this was him getting the lead role of Neo in the modern classic The Matrix, 1999.

The actor will be now seen in the animated movie, DC League of Super-Pets, which stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Natasha Lyonne, and John Krasinksi. He will now be a part of DC’s animation lineup where he will be voicing Batman.

In the upcoming movie, Krypto, Superman’s dog, gathers a group of super-strong animals to help in the release of the Justice League, who have been imprisoned by Lex Luthor and an evil guinea pig named Lulu.
