A bear who ingested cocaine and went on a killing spree is the subject of the upcoming movie Cocaine Bear, which will undoubtedly feature plenty of graphic violence. Kristofer Hivju, the Game of Thrones actor, has now joined the cast of the movie, Variety reported.

In an interview with Variety, the film’s director, Elizabeth Banks, said that she pushed for a particular amount of violence in the R-rated film.

Banks claimed that via her research, she learned that being devoured by bears is not for the faint of heart. “They don’t kill their prey before they eat it. They just start eating it alive,” she said. “I don’t recommend anyone do this, but if you go down the internet hole of looking at actual animal attacks on humans, it’s f**king gnarly as sh**.”

The controversy surrounding Cocaine Bear may extend beyond its violent nature. Twelve-year-olds discover the cocaine in the woods and sample it at the beginning of the film.

In the movie, Ray Liotta, who would later pass away, appears alongside Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery-Jennings, Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Kristofer Hivju, Hannah Hoekstra, Aaron Holliday, Margo Martindale, and others.
