Manoj Patil, who allegedly attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills at his residence in suburban Oshiwara on Thursday, is a former Mr India contest winner and a popular bodybuilder with many titles to his credit.

Patil won the title of Mr India Men’s Physique Overall Championship in 2016 at the age of 24. He also won the Maharasthra Men’s Physique Overall Championship. However, Patil’s biggest achievement is said to be winning the Sheru Classic IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) Pro Card in the overall Men’s Physique category in 2019.

This victory became the highlight of his career as a renowned model, bodybuilder, athlete and trainer too.

Apart from this, Patil also won a silver in the 2017 National Championship, secured the fourth position in 2017 Mr India. Before that, he won a silver medal in the Mr Mumbai MP. 

Patil was also the overall winner of Mr Junior Mumbai bodybuilder, won silver in the junior category of Mr Maharashtra. He was also the Balmitra Shree Overall Winner.

On social media platform Instagram, Patil describes himself as a common Indian, athlete, dreamer and chaser.

Patil’s height is 5 feet and 7 inches while his weight is said to be 75 kgs. 

On Thursday, the body-builder attempted suicide at his residence in Oshiwara after which he was rushed to the hospital where his condition was stated to be “critical”, his manager Pari Naaz said.

According to Naaz, the athlete had a few days back submitted a letter to the Oshiwara police, demanding action against a Bollywood actor Sahil Khan for allegedly defaming him on social media and creating problems in his professional life.

PTI has reported that a suicide note was found from his residence, in which Manoj has accused Sahil Khan of cyberbullying and mentally disturbing him. Along with this, Manoj has posted the audio on social media. 

Patil was born on in 1992 and is 29-years-old.
