Netflix’s highly anticipated psychological-thriller series ‘You’ returned with its third season on Friday. Love (Victoria Pedretti) and Joe (Penn Badgley), after their killing-spree in Season 2, have now shifted to the suburbs and are managing being new parents to their baby boy Henry.

In the 10-episode season, plenty of new faces have joined the series. In season 3, while Joe finds a new obsession, the couple is trying to rekindle their relationship. However, the premiere episode of season 3 featured a dedication to an actor all the way back from season 1: Mark Blum.

But, who is Mark Blum?

Joe worked as a manager at Mooney’s bookstore in New York City during the first season. Joe visited the bookshop frequently and it is there that he met Beck, a girl with whom he soon falls in love. Mooney, the proprietor of the bookshop (and Joe’s boss-slash-father figure), is played by Mark Blum, who is partly ignorant to Joe’s evil side.

But sadly, Blum passed away in March 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. He was 69 years old, according to CNN reports.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Blum began his acting career in the 1970s. He finally made it to Broadway, where he appeared in “Lost in Yonkers,” “The Best Man,” and “The Assembled Parties,” as well as a revival of “Twelve Angry Men.”

Mark made the transition to the silver screen in the 1980s. He is most remembered for his appearances in “Crocodile Dundee” and “Desperately Seeking Susan,” in which he co-starred with Rosanna Arquette and Madonna. He’s also been in a number of successful TV programmes recently, including “Succession” and “Mozart in the Jungle.”

All three seasons of “You” is available on Netflix.
