Who is Martin Short?

Martin Short is a versatile actor and comedian known for his work on stage, screen, and television. Born on March 26, 1950, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Short grew up in a working-class family and attended Westdale Secondary School.

In 1980, Nancy Dolman’s brother, screenwriter/director Bob Dolman, who worked with Short on SCTV’s Emmy-winning writing team, also married Andrea Martin, a close friend, and coworker. Jack and Joe, the couple’s two children, call Short their uncle. Since then, Bob Dolman and Andrea Martin got divorced (2004). Short is the first cousin of Clare Short, a former British cabinet minister and member of the British Parliament.
