Who is Andreina Martinez Founier?
Andreina Martinez Founier is a Dominican-American model who was crowned Miss Dominican Republic on November 7, 2021. She is representing the Dominican Republic at the Miss Universe 2022 pageant.
Martinez was born on September 22, 1997, in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. She was raised in The Bronx. The model attended Bronx Bridges High School. She was the captain of the school’s softball team. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Latin American studies from City College of New York, University of New York. She graduated summa cum laude.

Initially, Martinez was set to compete at Miss Universe 2021 but was replaced by 1st Runner-up Debbie Aflalo after Martinez tested positive for Covid-19 before the pageant.
Martinez has excellent oratory skills and is fluent in Spanish and English.

In 2017, she worked as a legislative intern at the district office of Senator Jose Serrano in New York. She was also a Caucus CUNY scholar. She also served as a peer mentor of the SEEK Program at the CCNY and as a health educator at Peer Health Exchange.

In 2018, she was a legislative intern at the office of Senator Kirsten E Gillibrand in Washington, DC. She also worked as a legislative budget intern at the New York City Council. The National Council for Behavioral Health issued her mental health first aid certification in December 2018. Maritnez became a Women’s Equality Center operations
coordinator in August 2020.
