Miss Venezuela Amanda Dudamel was named the first runner-up of Miss Universe 2022. The 23-year-old was competing with Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel and Miss Dominican Republic Andreína Martínez for the Miss Universe crown.

The selection committee included Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete, American rapper and performer Big Freedia, American model and co-founder of Vyral Media PR Mara Martin, Miss Universe 1998 Wendy Fitzwilliam, American actress and sports journalist Emily Austin, Filipino-Chinese CEO and founder of O Skin Med Spa Olivia, American television and radio host Myrka Dellanos and Indian author, member of the Forbes council and founder of Healveda Sweta Patel.

Who is Amanda Dudamel?

Born in Mérida, Mérida in Venezuela, Dudamel is the daughter of Rafael Dudamel, a Venezuelan former footballer from San Felipe, Yaracuy, and Nahir Newman Torres, a Venezuelan real estate agent of German descent from Mérida, Mérida.

Due to her parents’ work, she lived in various countries, such as Canada, Colombia, Chile and South Africa.

Amanda studied her professional career in fashion design in the city of Rome, Italy. She is the owner and executive director of her own clothing brand “By Amanda Dudamel” and co-founder of the brand “Reborn the Brand”, as well as director of the social impact project “Emprendiendo e Impactando”.

She is the Creative Director of Made in Petare, an accessories brand.

Dudamel was crowned Miss Venezuela 2021. She is the third Miss Venezuela from the state of Mérida. On November 18, 2021, Dudamel held her first show as a fashion designer in Venezuela with her clothing brand REBORN THE BRAND.

In January 2022, she participated in a commercial for hair care brand Drene. On May 24, 2022, she was modeling in the fashion show of the spring summer collection, entitled Canto a Caracas (I sing to Caracas) the Venezuelan fashion designer Giovanni Scutaro.
