Born in New York City, Morgan Margolis is the son of well-known character actor Mark Margolis.
Mark Margolis, the actor who played the vengeful drug runner Hector Salamanca, on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, has died. He was 83.
Margolis died on Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, after a brief illness.
Mark Margolis has had a remarkable career as an actor, spanning over five decades. He began his acting journey in the late 1960s, and since then, he has left an indelible mark on film, television, and theater.
It was his role as Hector Salamanca in the critically acclaimed television series “Breaking Bad” (2008-2013) that brought Margolis widespread recognition and acclaim. His portrayal of the mute, wheelchair-bound drug cartel enforcer earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. He reprised the role in the prequel series “Better Call Saul” (2015-2022), further solidifying his status as a revered character actor.
