Nadya Suleman, American media personality and pornographic film actor, celebrated the 14th birthday of her octuplets – eight children – on Wednesday. Pictures of the celebration were circulated on social media.
Suleman gave birth to eight children – Noah, Maliyah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Jonah, Makai, Josiah and Jeremiah – in January 2009. They were all spotted singing happy birthday and eating their vegan donuts in a video obtained by entertainment website TMZ.

The 47-year-old conceived the octuplets and her six older children via in vitro fertilization (IVF). It led to controversy in the field of assisted reproductive technology and an investigation by the Medical Board of California of the fertility specialist was launched.
Who is Nadya Suleman?
Born in Fullerton, California, Nadya Suleman is 47 years old. She is the only child of Angela Victoria Suleman, a schoolteacher of Lithuanian descent and Edward Doud Suleman, a Palestinian restaurant owner turned realtor.
Suleman attended the Nogales High School in La Puente. She was known as Natalie Doud. She later went to Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut and earned a psychiatric technician license. She worked for a state mental hospital for three years.

Nadya married Marco Gutierrez in 1996. The two separated in 2000 and filed for a divorce in 2006.
She started IVF treatments at age 21 in 1997, under the supervision of Dr. Michael Kamrava, who was later expelled from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. In 2001, Suleman gave birth to her first child – Elijah. One year later, Ameerah was born. She continued with IVF, which resulted in three more pregnancies.

She gave birth to her first daughter, Ameerah, in 2002. In 2008, Dr. Kamrava implanted Suleman with 12 embryos from an unidentified sperm donor. Leading up to and following their births, Suleman gained huge public attention, though, in recent years, she has tried to avoid the spotlight.
