Born in 1979, Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein is an American actress and producer. Her father Aaron Braunstein was a boxing promoter. She did her early schooling in New York City but they later moved to Israel. She dropped out of high school to attend a film program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Her first role as a child actor was at six when she was cast as Opal in Pee-wee’s Playhouse. She has acted in movies like Heartburn, Dennis the Menace, and A Man called Sarge. She got recognition at the age of sixteen when she was cast in Woody Allen’s romantic hit Everyone Says I Love You. With time, she started acting in many movies like Detroit Rock City, The Gray Zone, Blade: Trinity, and Scary Movie 2. She also appeared in independent films and TV series that targeted the young population.

Natasha dabbled with drugs and suffered from alcohol addiction. In the early 2000’s she had to face many legal issues and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. In 2005, she suffered health issues. Natasha was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, heart infection, and a damaged lung. She underwent open heart surgery and a year later she resumed work.

She became known for her role in the Hollywood blockbuster American Pie. She also earned huge popularity for her role in Netflix’s hit series Orange is the New Black. Natasha Lyonne will now be seen in the upcoming animated movie DC League of Super-Pets

Lyonne has received many awards and recognitions which include the Chicago Film Critics Association Award nomination for Most Promising Actress, Teen Choice Award nomination for Breakout Performance, and Young Hollywood Award for Best Ensemble Cast for the movie American Pie. In 2014, she received her first primetime Emmy Award nomination
