Jason Roger Williams has been hired by Jamell Maurice Demons, also known as YNW Melly, to represent him in his most recent trial. The lawyers’ group also includes Nicole Burdett and Bradford Cohen in addition to Rogers.
A video of YNW Melly and his attorney Nicole Burdett during a court case recently went viral. During the murder trial in court, the two were allegedly seen laughing and whispering with one another.
Who is Nicole Burdett?
Nicole Burdett holds an associate position at Jason Rogers’ law firm. She primarily represents children in juvenile court. Burdett’s background navigating the nuances of juvenile law is probably going to provide Jamell’s case with a special perspective and add an important component to the defense plan.
After entering a not-guilty plea in March, YNW Melly has strengthened his growing legal team. “I feel very confident. We have a very strong team with Brad Cohen and Nicole Burdett and myself,” Williams confidently relayed to XXL. “We feel really good about it. This is a process, and we’re hoping that it’s a fair process and all the evidence comes out.”

In 2012, Williams aided Boozie in avoiding a conviction for first-degree murder charges. The rapper of “Murder on My Mind” has remained imprisoned since his initial arrest on February 13 in Florida earlier this year and has not been released on bond. The fatal shooting of Anthony “Sak” Williams and Christopher “Juvy” Thomas Jr., both of whom were close friends of Melly and members of his YNW gang, is believed to have been carried out by Melly, according to authorities.
Law authorities also detained YNW Bortlen for his claimed participation in the killings together with the Florida resident. According to Miramar Police, forensic and video evidence supports the theory that Melly and Henry arranged the crime scene to mimic a drive-by gunshot committed by an unidentified assailant.
Now, until his case goes to trial, YNW Melly will continue to be detained in Broward County.
