Rapper Playboi Carti was arrested for allegedly choking his pregnant girlfriend after an argument in Georgia. 
The woman, who has not been identified, told the police that the rapper grabbed her by her throat and pushed her. He held her neck until she could barely breathe. She even told cops she thought she was going to die. She was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged incident which took place on December 20. 
She’s reportedly been in a relationship with Playboi Carti for 2 years and lived with him since July 2022. Prior to the assault, the two of them were having a discussion about the baby and a conversation about a paternity test that led to an argument. The argument then escalated to a physical attack.
After a witness jumped in and tried to break up the fight, the woman told the police that she ran to her car, where she claimed that the rapper attacked her again. Apparently,  Carti tried pulling her out of the car and put his hand over her mouth as she tried to use the vehicle’s SOS feature to call the police.
The police said that the woman had visible injuries to her neck, chest, and back after they arrived on the scene. Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was arrested for felony aggravated assault. His attorney, Brian Steel, told TMZ: “Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”
Who is Playboi Carti dating?
It is not known who the rapper is dating currently. However, he has one child, a son named Onyx Carter, with his ex-girlfriend and fellow rapper Iggy Azalea. His birth was first announced on June 10, 2020. Azalea shared the news on Instagram, saying she was “waiting for the right time to say something”. At the time she added that she wanted to “keep his life private but wanted to make it clear he is not a secret”. Carti and Azalea split in October 2020 amid cheating rumors.
Carti was involved with model Brandi Marion during his relationship with Iggy. Initially, when she became embroiled in their messy split, she insisted that she did not know the rapper until after his son was born. The rapper was also linked to Blac Chyna in 2018. At the time, he played down rumors and described her as his “homie” saying: “We ain’t that deep”.
There was also a reference to Kylie Jenner’s former best friend Jordyn Woods in his track Shawty in Love. He also had a brief romance with model Alexis Sky in 2017.
Carti has also been linked to singer Justine Skye and rapper and model Rubi Rose.
