Actor and columnist Pooja Bedi has tested positive for COVID-19. The 51-year-old took to her Instagram to share a video and said that her “natural immunity” will help her recover. She also says that she has not been vaccinated and that it’s her “choice”.

“Hello everyone! I have been wondering why I have not got the coronavirus till now. It is so infectious and everyone, at some point is going to get it. Well, voila! Seems that I have now caught it. I have tested positive,” she posted on Sunday and added that her natural immunity will help her recover.
She added, “I know I have been vocal about not taking the vaccine. For me, it was a choice that I took. I know that my immunity will naturally rise up and I want to rely on my natural immunity. Each one of you, go make your own choices, this is my chronicled journey.”

Pooja, who is currently living in Goa with Maneck Contractor, is the daughter of Indian actor Kabir Bedi and Protima Bedi. She has also participated in the reality television shows, ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’.
She worked in Bollywood films and appeared in many commercials and campaigns during the period of 1991 to 1995. She is remembered for the KamaSutra condom campaign which she endorsed and used as a vehicle to raise awareness of AIDS.

She made her film debut with Jag Mundhra’s film ‘Vishkanya’ in 1991. She went on to act in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander in 1992 with Aamir Khan for which she earned a nomination in the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1993. Her other films include Lootere in 1993 and Aatank Hi Aatank in 1995.
In 2005, she participated in Nach Baliye and In 2006, she participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in its first season followed by Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi. In 2011, Bedi was a celebrity contestant in the fifth season of the Indian version of the reality TV show Big Brother, Bigg Boss
