She entered the show because she felt that she was stigmatized for being a divorcee. Rupam worked closely with Mumbai-based matchmaker Sima Taparia to find a suitable match.

Sima Taparia was not very hopeful about her and told her family that her divorcee and single mother status would limit her from being selected by potential suitors.

Rupam could not find any suitable match through Sima Taparia. But she met her better half through the dating app Bumble. Rupam and Nitin got to know each other after they dated for a while. They were both happy to discover that apart from belonging to the same community they both shared the status of being single parents.

In September 2020, Rupam got hitched to Nitin Singh in New York. In an interview published in Bumble, Rupam said, “It was huge for me that I found someone who matched me on so many levels. I realized that, regardless of the faith we practice, I liked him. It was kind of an added bonus that we’re both Sikh and I didn’t have to explain my background and upbringing. Because that was already a common factor, we were able to really connect on everything else.”

Rupam in an interview with Screen Rant, said about her husband Nitin, “He’s a great guy. He’s Sikh. He is a single parent to a daughter and we have great chemistry. I feel really lucky that we met and connected. Sima Aunty is just a memory.”
