Who is Safaree Samuels? 

Safaree Samuels is a Jamaican-American rapper, songwriter, and television personality. He was born on July 4, 1981 in New York City to immigrant Jamaican parents . Samuels began his musical career in the early 2000s as a member of the group the Hoodstars, alongside American rapper Nicki Minaj .

After the group disbanded, he supported Minaj as her hype man . In 2016, Samuels joined the cast of the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood . He has since become a popular figure on the show and has also released several mixtapes as a solo artist. Samuels has had a successful career in the entertainment industry and continues to be active in music and television. He is known for his energetic performances and his ability to connect with his fans.

He has two sisters named Shamika and Samantha Samuels. He attended Midwood High School. Samuels dated rapper Nicki Minaj from 2000 until their breakup in 2014. He married Erica Mena in 2019 but they divorced in 2022.

Samuels and Mena started dating in 2018 and got engaged just a month later. They got married on October 7, 2019. However, their relationship took a turn for the worse and they separated in November 2020 and divorced on May 21, 2021.

Samuels and Nicki Minaj were in a relationship for 12 years after meeting before Nicki became famous. During her rise to fame, Safaree is believed to have earned writing and producing credits on her album. However, they split in 2014 after 12 years together.
