Actor Sam Lerner, his nephew, confirmed the death of veteran, Oscar-nominated actor Michael Lerner. Michael Lerner was 81. “We lost a legend last night,” Sam Lerner wrote in a post on Instagram. For his role in Barton Frink in 1991, Lerner received an Oscar nomination.

Who is Sam Lerner?

Born on September 27, 1992, Samuel Bryce Lerner is an American actor.

The son of actor Ken Lerner and reporter Patti Lerner, Lerner was born in Los Angeles. His family is Jewish, and his uncle was the actor Michael Lerner best known for his role in Barton Frink in 1991.

Lerner is most recognized for his roles on The Goldbergs as Geoff Schwartz, Chowder in Monster House, and Quinn Goldberg in Project Almanac.

Lerner played the son of Ben Stiller and Rachel Weisz’s characters in Envy, the son of Wendie Malick and Sam Robards in the ABC pilot My Life With Men, and the son of John Leguizamo and Claire Forlani in an untitled CBS pilot that Brett Ratner directed.

In the computer-animated movie Monster House, Lerner provided the voice of Chowder, one of the leads. (2006). For his performance, he was nominated for a 2006 Annie Award for Best Voice Acting in an Animated Feature, but Sir Ian McKellen’s performance in Flushed Away took home the prize.

He has had appearances on the television programs Oliver Beene, Sonny With a Chance, Two and a Half Men, Malcolm in the Middle, The King of Queens, and The King of Queens. He also had a voice role on the Cartoon Network program Whatever Happened to Robot Jones? On The Secret Saturdays on Cartoon Network, he provided Zak Saturday’s voice acting.
