Pinocchio is all set to release on Disney Plus on September 8. An
adaptation of the 1940 animated film of the same name, Pinocchio is a film that
is based on Carlo Collodi’s The Adventures of Pinocchio. The 2022 film is
directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Tom Hanks as Geppetto, Cynthia Erivo as
the Blue Fairy and Luke Evans as the Coachman, among others.

In Collodi’s novel, the Fairy with Turquoise Hair appears in the
most difficult situations to help Pinocchio avoid bad behavior.

Who is the Blue Fairy?

The Blue Fairy is what the Fairy with Turquoise Hair had been
called in the 1940 animated film. She is one of the primary characters of the
story who gave a human form to Pinocchio, thus fulfilling Geppetto’s wish. She
has the power to transform herself into a number of things like a white dove or
a wishing star and helps Jiminy cricket and Pinocchio in his adventure to turn
into a real life boy. She had appointed Jiminy Cricket as Pinocchio’s
conscience. Unlike the Fairy with Turquoise Hair, the Blue Fairy has blonde
hair and blue eyes. 

Pinocchio is a marionette created by Geppetto who wished that he
was a real boy. The night when he had wished so, the Blue Fairy had arrived and
brought him to life, though he was still a puppet. She promised to turn him
into a real boy if he proved himself to be brave, honest and unselfish. She
assigned Jiminy Cricket as his conscience. Pinocchio’s nose used to get
elongated whenever he lied. Once, as Pinocchio got into trouble, the Blue Fairy
appears after Jiminy Cricket fails to rescue him. To her he lied and got his
nose elongated. Though she helped him to restore his nose and freed him, she
warned him that she would not be able to help him anymore.

Though initially naughty, due to which he also got enticed by the Pleasure Island, Pinocchio becomes very selfless when he sets
out to find his father. The Blue Fairy appears in different forms whenever
needed. Cynthia Erivo is playing the role of the Blue Fairy.
