The sequence in question had Rita Vrataski, a character played by Blunt, going through rigorous physical training. Blunt claimed that the difficult choreography was overwhelming her and that she was having trouble keeping up. At that point, Cruise, who was portraying Major William Cage, intervened and encouraged her.

“We were doing this really intense scene and I was struggling with the choreography,” Blunt recalled. “I was just really struggling and Tom, God bless him, he just stopped everything and he just went, ‘Emily, stop being such a p***y. You can do this. I have complete faith in you. Now get on with it.'”
