Who is Yasmin Finney?

Born on 30 August 2003, Yasmin Finney is an English actress, who notably garnered recognition for her portrayal of Elle Argent in the Netflix series “Heartstopper” (2022). She earned a nomination for a Children’s and Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance. Additionally, her journey continues to ascend as she is poised to become part of the cast of “Doctor Who” in 2023.

Raised in Manchester, she and her half-sister were nurtured by her single mother. When she was 17 years old in April 2021, Finney’s trajectory took a significant turn as she secured roles. She was cast as Kelsa in the Billy Porter film “Anything’s Possible” and simultaneously landed the role of Elle Argent in the Netflix series “Heartstopper,” the latter of which debuted in 2022. Regrettably, she had to withdraw from “Anything’s Possible” due to the impact of COVID-19-related travel restrictions, specifically affecting her ability to acquire a work visa for the United States. Consequently, she was succeeded by Eva Reign in the role. Her influence expanded further as she was selected for GLAAD’s second annual 20 Under 20 list, underscoring her noteworthy contributions.
