Paramore released its brand new single, This Is Why, as it gears up towards releasing its sixth studio album of the same name, on February 10 2023.

The song is the last song that was written for the album, according to lead singer Hayley Williams. Saying that she was convinced to work on the “last idea” by band members Taylor York and Zac Farro, the song ended up becoming the title track for the new album.

“It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last 3 or 4 years,” said Williams in the press release that accompanied the release of the song.
