Who was Al Strobel?
Al Strobel was born in Seattle in 1939, but his exact birthday is not known. He was involved in a car crash when he was 73 years old, leading him to lose his right arm.
Strobel attened the University of Oregon, where he became involved with theatre work. The late actor shot some footage during The Grateful Dead’s concert at Veneta, Oregon on August 27, 1972, a part of which ended up on the documentary film, Sunshine Daydream.
Besides Twin Peaks, Strobel was seen in Shadow Play, Megaville (a straight-to-TV film), and Ricochet River, where he starred alongside Kate Hudson.
Strobel was among the Twin Peaks cast members who made a video together to support David Lynch after the latter departed from the Twin Peaks revival in 2016. When Lynch returned to the production, Strobel, who was by then retired and living in Eugene, Oregon, chose to reprise his role of Phillip Gerard.
