Rapper Big Scarr passed away at the age of 22 on Thursday. His death was confirmed by his record label, Gucci Mane in an Instagram post. “This hurts,” Gucci Mane posted. “I’m a miss you.” several other rappers on the 1017 label also reported his death.

The official cause of the death of Scarr has not been revealed yet, although unconfirmed reports suggested that he might have been shot in Memphis.

Who was Big Scarr?

The real name of Big Scarr was Alexander Woods. He was a rapper from Memphis, Tennessee, and was signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records.

Scarr was born on April 7, 2000, and grew up in the Magnolia community of South Memphis. When he was 16 years old, he was in a car accident He ended up being thrown through the windshield of his friend’s car.

This was not his only bout with death. In 2020, he was shot in the hip. Since the bullet traveled up to his spine, the rapper had to have his appendix taken out. He also had to put his right leg back into alignment.

He rose to fame was his track SoIcyBoyz, which features Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano. He signed with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records and quickly gained an even bigger following. He released his debut mixtape, Big Grim Reaper, on April 16, 2021. It peaked at number 25 on the Billboard 200, selling 22,000 copies in its first week. This also earned Big Scarr his first charting project.

Before his death, he had over 928,000 Instagram followers. In March, Scarr was also scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud California.

According to one of Scarr’s last Instagram posts, he was set to go on tour with Key Glock, as part of his “Glockoma Tour 2023.” Glock is a rapper from Memphis.
