Dale Meeks, who was 47 years old, suddenly passed away on April 23, 2023. A family member posted the news of his passing on Facebook. Numerous close friends, family members, and admirers paid tribute to the beloved actor on social media.

The cause of his death is yet to be announced.

Who was Dale Meeks?

Popular English television and theatre actor Dale Meeks gained prominence for his roles in several TV series. His performance as Simon Meredith in the British TV show Emmerdale made the Geordie actor well-known worldwide. He was also the winner of ITV’s Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes with Mark Charnock as the Blues Brothers.

Meeks additionally portrayed the gang leader for a rival youth club in Byker Grove for five seasons and played Hips in the BBC television series Breezeblock. Furthermore, he performed in the West End production of Love Never Dies and toured the UK with the musical Chicago.

Aside from these, Dale made an appearance in The Hunt for Raoul Moat’s recent episode, which aired last week. Also, he made appearances in Casualty, the drama series Inspector George Gently, and the Tracey Beaker spinoff The Dumping Ground, where he played a custody sergeant.

The details of Dale’s personal life are unknown. Prior to his passing, he was not known to be either married or engaged. Celebrity Age Wiki also states that Dale had no children.

In the Facebook post announcing the actor’s demise, a relative of Meeks stated, “So unbelievably sad. Brother in Law, mucca, side kick and just the BEST friend a lad could have wished for. RIP Dale Meeks. So much less to laugh about now you’re not there to share it with.”

The post continued: “Thanks everyone for all the beautiful messages and memories you have been sharing. The support of Dale’s friends has been so incredibly strong over these chaotic, heartbreaking final hours, I can only stand in awe.”
