In a horrendous house fire in her residence in Los Angeles, publicist Doris Bergman along with her husband and cat died Wednesday. She was 68 years old at the time of her death. She was a known name in Hollywood with over 36 years of experience in public relations.

Her close friend and fashion designer, Sue Wong confirmed the news on Facebook on Thursday. “Their house was completely ablaze,” said Wong.

Who was Doris Bergman?

Bergman was a publicist and an event producer in Hollywood. She was known for hosting Oscar gifting suites with the likes of Jane Lynch, Brigitte Nielsen, and Judd Nelson among her guests. Fox 11 News Anchor, Christine Devine paid her tribute to Bergman remembering her for including foster youth at her Emmys/Oscars events.

Moreover, Bergman also worked with George Lopez for golf classic event each year. Subsequently, she founded her celebrity consulting agency, Bergman Public Relations,  in 2004. As per her LinkedIn profile, she studied at the University of Southern California.

Her PR agency represented celebrities and news personalities, such as comedians, authors, chefs, lawyers, couture fashion designers, and newsmakers. Her specialities lied in national and international placements including CNN Headline News, Greta Van Susteren, Nancy Grace, Hollywood Heat, The Mirror, US Weekly, etc. She was also known for her skills as a piano player.

Bergman was married to an attorney, Albert Bergman. They lived in their Mar Vista house with their cat in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the news on fire stating that “an elderly man and woman and their cat perished early Wednesday morning in a Mar Vista house fire”. The fire department further added that the house was registered under Bergman’s name.
