Eileen Saki, actor known for playing bar owner Rosie on M*A*S*H, died on Monday in Los Angeles, following a long battle with cancer.

A few months ago, Eileen appeared in an advertisement for Uber Eats, taking some help crossing the street from LA Rams’ defensive tackle, Aaron Donald.

Saki’s death was confirmed by her M*A*S*H co-star Jeff Maxwell, who announced the news on his podcast about the program. ‘Our sweet Eileen. Our sassy Rosie,’ a post on the official Facebook page said. “On behalf of her husband Bob, we extend sincere appreciation for the hundreds of M*A*S*H fans who filled Eileen’s final days with peace, encouragement, and love,” it added.

However, Maxwell never shared scenes with Saki on the show but he shared fond memories of Saki after she appeared on the M*A*S*H Matters podcast.

Eileen is survived by her husband Bob Borgen.

Who was Eileen Saki?

Eileen Saki was the last and longest-running actor to play Rosie. She played Rosie on several episodes of the Korean War-era sitcom, she was the owner of the self-titled Rosie’s Bar, a local place for GIs to take a load off. She took over the character of Rosie in season 10, following two previous actors. The season initially aired in 1981. Saki replaced Frances Fong after Fong had previously stepped into Shizuko Hoshi’s shoes.

She was born on November 18, 1943. She was 79 years old.

She played Dr. Fujimoto in the 1984 movie Splash with Tom Hanks. She also played parts in CHiPS and History of the World: Part 1 (1981) and Meteor (1979).

Saki made her last appearance during the season 10 episode of Snap Judgement. She also featured in episodes of Good Times, CHiPS, The Greatest American Hero, Gimme a Break!, and Without a Trace. She also worked in the TV film Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story.
