JayDaYoungan, an American rapper, was shot dead Wednesday, Bogalusa Police Department confirmed. The rapper was reportedly shot three times. Police said a close relative of the rapper, Kenyatta Scott Sr., who was also shot, has been hospitalised. Cops said detectives are currently conducting interviews and following up on leads. 

JayDaYoungan’s real name is Javorious Tykies Scott. Born in July 15, 1998, JayDaYoungan shot to immediate fame following the release of his film “Ruffway”. The song was an instant hit and became extremely popular in Lousiana. His next song, ‘Interstate’ garnered 4 million YouTube views within a month. 

Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, JayDaYoungun began his rap career at the age of 18 and dropped out of high school to pursue music. His first national hit was “Elimination” on the mixtape 23. As of January 2020, “Elimination” had 19.3 million streams on Spotify. 

JayDaYoungan next went on to release a tape titled Forever 23. Forever 23 contained musical titles such as Purge and Thot Thot. Both these garnered millions of views on Spotify and made JayDaYoungan a rapper of international repute. The Forever 23 mixtape reached number 86 on the US Billboard 200, becoming JayDaYoungun’s first entry. It also became number 37 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums. 

JayDaYoungan’s next big project was Endless Pain. The album came to be known for tracks called War Ready and Repo. While War Ready has garnered 4 million streams on Spotify, Repo has 6.5 million. JayDaYoungan’s next big project was a collaboration with rapper Yungeen Ace. The rapper duo released an album titled Can’t Speak on It. This album contained the famous number Opps as well as Creep Behind. 

JayDaYoungan’s subsequent production was called Misunderstood. This included the single 23 Island which garnered 17.8 million streams on Spotify. 

JayDaYoungan stated that he was inspired by rap musicians such as Kevin Gates, Boosie Badazz and Chief Keef.
