Hollywood actor Lisa Banes, born on July 5, 1955, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA, was known for movies like %u2018Gone Girl%u2019, %u2018A Cure for Wellness%u2019 and %u2018Cocktail%u2019. She died on June 14, 2021 in New York, 10 days after she was injured in an accident. She had a movie and television career spanning several decades.

A graduate of the Julliard, she got her first acting credit in 1984’s The Hotel New Hampshire. She starred alongside Rob Lowe and Jodie Foster.

The actor appeared in several TV shows including the country music drama Nashville, Masters of Sex, Royal Pains and 2017%u2019s The Orville.

In her Broadway stint, she starred alongside Christine Baranski in the 1988 play Rumors, performed in the musical High Society with Anna Kendrick in 1998, and in 2010 she performed in Present Laughter with Victor Garber.

Banes lived in Los Angeles and was married to Kathryn Kranhold, a contributing reporter for the Center for Public Integrity.

On June 4, 2021, she was injured in New York City after a scooter or bike struck her at a red light while she was crossing the street.
