Melanie Rauscher, who was a contestant on the reality show ‘Naked and Afraid’, has died at the age of 35.

Corey Kasun, a rep for the Prescott Police Department, told TMZ that the 35-year-old was dog sitting at a home in Arizona while the homeowners were on a vacation. When they returned on July 17, they found Rauscher dead on the bed in the guest room. Several cans of compressed air were reportedly found near her body. However, it remained unclear if she consumed the contents of the cans. Cops did not find obvious signs of foul play.

The cause of death was being investigated. Authorities not find a suicide note or drug paraphernalia. The dog that she was taking care of was okay.

Who was Melanie Rauscher?

An obituary on Legacy.com stated that Melanie Rauscher was born to Daniel T and Catherine A Rauscher. She has three siblings –  Jeanette (Rick), Rebecca (Calvin), and Alexis. She was born and raised in Philadelphia. She went to Kennedy-Kenrick High School and attended Old Dominion University in Virginia.

Rauscher appeared on  the second series of the Discovery Channel show in 2013. She also featured in the spinoff show XL in 2015. At the time of her death, the 35-year-old was employed at the Prescott VA Medical Center.

She was also a passionate athlete. She used to actively be involved in local leagues. She was also am Eagles fan.

Following her death, Jeremy McCaa, a close castmate, posted a tribute on his Facebook page.
