Praveen Nettar was a BJP Yuva Morcha activist who was murdered by unidentified felons in the Dakshina Kannada coastal district of Karnataka on Tuesday. 

Two unidentified criminals attacked Praveen Nettar from Sulia with swords while he was riding his bike. They then fled the scene. 

Nettar was fatally stabbed on his way home late on after closing the Akshay Poultry Farm shop, according to the police. He attempted to flee after being attacked and ran but fell after being struck in the head. Locals called the police right away, who responded and found Nettar dead.

Who was Praveen Nettar?

Nettar was a 31-year-old Zilla BJP Yuva Morcha committee member who lived in the Dakshina Kannada District in Karnataka. Praveen Nettar operated a chicken shop at Peruvaje Cross on Bellare village, close to Puttur named Akshay Chicken Shop.

After the incident, the city was in a state of distress as protests erupted and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) declared a bandh in some taluks to denounce the killing.

Section 144 was implemented in the Puttur area due to the protest, and security personnel have been stationed in Bellare village.

The districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada have increased security. Additional forces have been deployed to ensure law and order.

Members of the BJP Yuva Morcha staged a sit-in in front of the hospital shortly after the incident, and the VHP has requested a bandh on Wednesday against the murder in the district’s Kadba, Sulia, and Puttur taluks.

They have chosen to carry the corpse in a procession from Puttur to Bellare according to Zee. The Bellare police have simultaneously established four special teams to apprehend the offenders by filing a case. The police have started an extensive investigation into this case.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressed sorrow over the incident and promised that the murderers would soon be apprehended. In this case, more than ten people have already been interviewed. There have been five arrests.
