The voice behind Muriel Bagge of ‘Courage the Cowardly Dog’, Thea White, died at the age of 81 on Friday. Her family member Brad Zitzner took to Facebook to announce that Thea had died due to an infection from the surgery she underwent for liver cancer.

“Sadly we lost our legendary Feefer (the voice of Muriel) on Friday morning after she fought hard with courage to try to beat her liver cancer and to resume life or to die trying. (She ended up with an infection after cutting out the da*n cancer),” Zitzner wrote.

Who was Thea White?

American voice actor Thea White was famous as the voice of Muriel Bagge on ‘Courage the Cowardly Dog’. She reprised her role in the 2006 video game Cartoon Network Racing and 2014 short ‘The Fog of Courage’, as well as the Scooby-Doo ‘crossover ‘Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo!’

Born on June 16, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey, White graduated high school and studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the American Theater Wing. White was married to Andy White, who passed away in 2015.

Just days before her death, SyFy Wire released a trailer of an upcoming crossover feature between ‘Courage the Cowardly Dog’ and ‘Scooby-Doo’.

White’s mother and maternal grandmother were both actors. Her mother began acting as a child, and continued to do so as an adult, while her grandmother made her acting debut as a teenager and retired following marriage.
