The blue ribbon pins worn by celebs at Oscars 2023 symbolize solidarity with refugees and displaced people from around the globe. It stands for #WithRefugees.

Many of the eminent screen personalities, including director Guillermo del Toro, who won an Oscar in the Best Animated Film category on Sunday, March 12, were spotted wearing the blue ribbon pin at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Academy Award for Best Picture was won by Everything Everywhere All At Once. During the acceptance speech, producer Jonathan Wang expressed gratitude to A24 for supporting their unconventional film for a year.

Daniel Kwan also took the microphone and thanked everyone present, stating that they had all been an inspiration to him. He also expressed the belief that sheltering each other from the chaos of the world is one of the best things we can do for each other.

The other nominees in the Best Picture category included All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Banshees of Inisherinl, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Tar, Top Gun: Maverick, Triangle of Sadness, and Women Talking.

Brendan Fraser was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance in The Whale. Upon receiving his trophy, he appeared visibly moved and surprised. In his acceptance speech, Fraser expressed his gratitude to the film’s director, Darren Aronofsky, for giving him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of The Whale.

He also thanked the film’s cast and crew for their hard work and dedication in bringing the story to life on the big screen.

The Best Actor category also featured other exceptional nominees, including Austin Butler for his role in Elvis, Colin Farrell for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin, Paul Mescal for his outstanding work in Aftersun, and Bill Nighy for his impressive performance in Living.
