Nelly and Ashanti continued to spark dating rumors when they were spotted together at the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia boxing match in Las Vegas on Saturday. The two were seen grabbing a seat in the second row before watching the match together with Jermaine Dupri.
The rapper and singer have a history dating back to the 2000s. The couple stayed in a relationship for 11 years before separating in 2014.

The cameras started to roll as soon as people noticed them because two of them out in public like this is a pretty rare sight. A video showing Nelly holding Ashanti’s hand while leaving the venue was enough to convince fans of their romantic reunion. They also did and impromptu interview together.

In December, the two collaborated during a concert in Arizona for a steamy performance of Body On Me. In February, fans noticed Ashanti wearing Nelly’s neck chain.
Why did Nelly and Ashanti breakup?
Nelly and Ashanti started dating after meeting a Grammy press conference in 2003. The two had an on and off relationship for years but never confirmed publicly that they were together.
The couple attended several events where they were seen holding hands and smiling at each other but both were silent about the rumours that they were dating.
In a 2008 interview with People Magazine, Nelly confirmed that he and Ashanti were serious.
The couple broke up in 2013.

During a appearance at The Meredith Vieira Show, Ashanti first spoke about the reason for her break-up with the rapper. The Always On Time singer said that she felt betrayed.
“I think sometimes when people have their own insecurities, it allows them to act out of character. I’ve been betrayed. Again, you just have to grow, you have to grow up and accept responsibilities for the things that you do,” Ashanti said.

“I am not a fan of people being cowards. But I am now in a different place,” she added.
In 2019, during an interview at Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the singer revealed that she and Nelly haven’t been in touch since they parted ways in 2013.
