Call it DC: Genesis or DC Rebirth. Use the names Identity Crisis or Flashpoint, perhaps. The titles of previous DC comics event series perfectly sum up the current status of Warner Bros.’s DC movies, which are on the verge of a new era but not before a possibly difficult transition period.
When a new executive team is brought in to run a studio or division, the slate is typically cleaned, but there are probably few precedents for the amount of Clorox James Gunn and Peter Safran might spray as they get ready to launch DC Studios and oversee superhero films for the next five years and beyond.

The pair just took a flight from the chilly city of Aspen, Colorado, where they were holed up in a planning meeting, back to Los Angeles. Now, as holy figures descended from the summit, they are carrying the Ten Commandments or a DC Bible. or at the very least a functional plan.
David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery who is dramatically restructuring the media firm and who appointed Gunn and Safran in October to run a newly established film and TV division, is set to meet with the duo next week. Zaslav will be shown a strategy that the two will likely use to outline their goals.

Details of a number of potential futures are slowly emerging, despite the fact that much of their plan is still being kept in the Batcave and is, according to insiders, still a work in progress that hasn’t been authorised. Additionally, at least one other path has been made clear.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that they have been informed by numerous sources that Patty Jenkins‘ Wonder Woman 3 is no longer in production and is thought to be lost.

According to sources, the THR report added, Jenkins recently turned in her treatment, which she co-wrote with Geoff Johns. Gunn, Safran, as well as co-chairs and co-CEOs of Warner Bros. Pictures Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy, broke the news to Jenkins, explaining that the project did not fit with the new (but still-developing) plans. The two previous Gal Gadot films, which were released in 2017 and 2020, were directed and co-written by Jenkins. The course of action is still up in the air.

In addition, although expenses are unimportant—insiders claim that DC Studios won’t face any onerous financial constraints—by forgoing the third episode, the studio may end up saving tens of millions of dollars. For Wonder Woman 3, Gadot was reportedly set to earn $20 million, while Jenkins would have received $12 million, according to insiders. These numbers exclude any potential backend bonuses.
Warner Brothers provided no comments.

It’s unclear how Gadot’s interpretation of the title character in any upcoming Wonder Woman films would fit into the new DC strategy. In an odd turn of events, Gadot unexpectedly tweeted a thank you to her fans on Tuesday, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to portray the heroine and role model and stating she “Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you.” Whether the actor was aware that the project was being toe-tagged is unknown.
There are various rumours and situations to think about before the meeting next week even though the rest of the DC slate is still up in the air or at the very least is being kept hidden deep inside Gunn’s utility belt.

The first, which builds on the release of Wonder Woman 3 by Patty Jenkins, is the conclusion of the Snyderverse and the characters that director Zack Snyder chose for his Justice League. There will be no more Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa, and Man of Steel 2 will end with Henry Cavill returning.
These characters will make brief appearances in the highly anticipated time-traveling action film Flash, which will be released on June 16. In September, Cavill shot his portion of the cameo. However, according to reports, there is a disagreement within the studio about whether or not to preserve the cameo and whether its inclusion promises something the studio does not intend to achieve.
