According to a TMZ report, after arriving in the Cayman Islands, Gigi Hadid was detained and accused of having marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The 28-year-old supermodel landed from a private plane at Owen Roberts International Airport on July 10 and proceeded through customs with her luggage. She was traveling with her friend Leah McCarthy.

When Customs & Border Control officers hand-searched and scanned her bag, they discovered “a small amount of weed and smoking utensils.”
Despite the fact that Hadid and Leah were detained on suspicion of importing marijuana and smoking accessories, it was ruled that the marijuana was for “personal use only.”

“Gigi was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC with a medical license,” the model’s rep confirmed to E! News on Tuesday, July 18. “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”
Does Gigi Hadid face jail time?
Prior to being granted bail, Hadid was sent to the Prisoner Detention Centre. On July 12, Hadid and her friend were formally prosecuted and entered a guilty plea. Each of them received a $1,000 fine. The case has now been legally resolved. Thus, no, Gigi Hadid does not face jail time.
