Lance Reddick, who starred as Charon in the John Wick franchise, died Friday. He was 60. Law enforcement said that they found the actor’s body in his Los Angeles home at around 9:30 AM.

TMZ, citing insiders, reported that Reddick’s death appeared natural. However, the cause of death has not been made public yet.

Reddick was on a promotional tour for John Wick 4, which releases on March 24. In a 2021 interview with The Vulture, The Wire star had spoken about working in the action-thriller franchise. He also spoke about his character Charon and his friendship with Keanu Reeves, who plays the protagonist.

Lance Reddick had said that Reeves is very generous as an actor and also very shy.

” I remember my first scene that I shot with him — it’s the first scene you see us together in the first movie — he was struggling with the timing. I said, “Keanu do you want to do XYZ?” I don’t even remember what it was. And he kind of smiled and said, “No man, you just do your thing.” My experience with him after that continues to be one with someone who’s very generous as an actor and then all about the work. He’s also very shy. This is going to sound really weird, but — he seems simple, but spiritually he’s very advanced,” Reddick told The Vulture.

With John Wick Chapter 4 releasing in about a week, the franchise might put in a tribute segment for Reddick, who has been an integral part of the series. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

Reddick played Charon is all four of the John Wick films. Charon is the impassive hotel concierge at the new York’s criminal underground hub, The Continental Hotel, in the high-octane thriller films. Before his death, Reddick has finished several press interviews for the film.

Reddick is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and children, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
