At the DC Fandom event, Warner Bros released the official trailer of Wonder Woman 1984, starring Gal Gadot in the sequel of 2017’s Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins. The teaser was released at the DC Fandom, alongside Matt Reeves’ The Batman and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

The trailer shows Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, in her new golden bodysuit facing her enemy, a Cheetah, being played by Kristen Wiig. In a big surprise for Wonder Woman fans, Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine, who is the love interest of the Diana Prince is seen returning. Trevor died in the original movie towards the end of World War II. However, the trailer does not reveal how Pine’s character has been brought back from dead.

The trailer also reveals a new villain  in the movie – Maxwell Lord played by Pedro Pascal. Glimpses of his evil plans have been shown in the trailer. It shows many one-on-one fight scenes between the Wonder Woman and the Cheetah, in one of which, towards the end, Gal Gadot is seen wearing a new suit.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman was introduced to the DC universe in 2016 film, Batman vs Superman. The next year, her character got a solo film and was a huge success. The film was earlier slated to release in August this year but has now been pushed till October due to coronavirus pandemic.
